The cat or the dog must have a microchip and the vaccination must be up to date. A municipality tag that comes with a unique registration number, linked to the pets own microchip number, is assigned to each cat or dog.

Dubai residents who have imported their cats or dogs must register their pets with the assistance of a veterinary clinic.

Our front desk team is available to guide and assist you in how to process and complete the online pet registration. The process starts with the verification of ownership, legal documents of proof of ownership must be presented. Then, you will be asked to submit the following documents online to complete the online registration:

• scanned copy of the owner’s Emirates I.D. (front and back)
• photo of the pet (with the face identifiable)
• scanned copy or photo of the recent vaccinations of the pet – optional
• Makani number (address system of Dubai) / or complete residence address if Makani number is currently not available

Please note that only one owner name can be registered on the registration portal. The registered owner shall decide on matters concerning the pet. Dubai Municipality will send a veterinary animal registration number through SMS on the mobile number provided once the registration has been completed.
